Vancouver’s Park Board dissolution plan update

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim is preparing to provide an update on his efforts to eliminate the Vancouver Park Board Thursday morning.

Sim previously called the board “inefficient” and believes the city could do the work of the park board in a more streamlined fashion.

However, the City of Vancouver needs the approval of the provincial government first.

The province has said it will rubber-stamp the mayor’s efforts as long as the city has done its due diligence.

Sim will begin his update at 9 a.m.
