Violent incident in Surrey sees 2 people arrested, charged
Police in Surrey say two people have been arrested and now charged in relation to a “violent” altercation in the city on Monday night.
The Surrey Police Service says that just before 11 p.m., officers were called to an apartment block on Central Avenue, near University Drive, after two men were “allegedly acting violently and had a gun.”
“SPS officers arrived and two men were taken into custody without incident. With the assistance of SPS’s Frontline Investigation Support Team and Serious Crime Unit detectives, a search warrant was obtained and executed. Seized in the search was a black BB gun,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said in a statement.
The two men have now been charged with multiple offences, including assault, assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement, and uttering threats.
Houghton says the two accused were still in custody on Wednesday morning as they awaited their first court appearance.
Police did not share whether anyone was injured during the incident.
