In response, authorities issued a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest.

Merrick is 6’2″ (188 cm) tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

He is bald, with brown hair on the sides and blue eyes. His typical outfit includes a black jacket over a white T-shirt, green cargo pants, a black ball cap, and gray-and-black running shoes.

He has multiple tattoos on his left arm, including a flag and a cowboy.

Merrick served an 18-year jail sentence for sexual offences before he was released on a long-term supervision order.

The VPD is asking anyone who knows about his whereabouts to call 911.
