Vancouver police are looking for a driver after a dog was hit by a car last week and died.

The VPD says it happened between 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13. According to police, the 15-year-old Pekinese named Monkie was on a leash when she was hit by a vehicle heading south on Arbutus Street near Nanton Avenue.

The driver didn’t stop, the VPD adds.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen what happened or who has dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact the VPD at 604-717-6846.
