Two people are dead and one person has sustained life-altering injuries as a result of three different hit-and-run incidents in Vancouver in less than a month.

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is asking the public for help identifying the drivers.

“[We’re asking them] if they have any videos, if they did witness anything suspicious, to come forward,” said VPD Const. Megan Lui.

All three collisions happened in 2025 in East Vancouver between Nov. 27 and Dec. 22.

Hit-and-run on Dec. 22

The most recent incident occurred in the morning hours of Dec. 22 on Rupert Street near Euclid Avenue.

Police say that shortly after 6:30 a.m., an 81-year-old woman was struck by the driver of a dark grey Volkswagen Golf manufactured in the late 1990s or early 2000s.

“The victim died from her injuries before being transported to the hospital,” the VPD said.

The driver, whose car is likely missing a mirror and has a damaged headlight on the driver’s side, was seen heading north on Rupert Street.

Hit-and-run on Dec. 7

Two weeks earlier, on Dec. 7, a 62-year-old man was struck by the drivers of two vehicles travelling westbound when crossing the street near East Hastings and Dunlevy Avenue.

“Despite life-saving attempts from first responders, the man died before being transported to the hospital,” the VPD added.

After only the driver of one car remained on scene, investigators are now searching for the driver of a white Range Rover Evoque, who drove away.

“This vehicle likely sustained damage to the front fender or passenger-side mirror as a result of striking the pedestrian,” Lui explained.

Police provided footage of the car on the VPD website, hoping that someone would recognize the vehicle.

Hit-and-run on Nov. 27

Another hit-and-run happened on Nov. 27 when a 40-year-old man was dragged by the driver of a vehicle near Graveley Street and Slocan Avenue, between 7:00 p.m. and 7:10 p.m.

The victim, who is still in the hospital in stable condition, sustained life-altering injuries.

Police are looking for a light grey or silver 2010-2012 Acura RDX.

None of the hit-and-runs are believed to be connected.
