A man who was labelled as one of Crime Stopper’s six “least wanted Valentines” was already arrested when his name and photo were released to the public.

The Surrey RCMP says Fabian Yul Brown was taken into custody in Winnipeg by police in that city on Feb. 7.

The 49-year-old is set to be brought back to B.C. to face charges in this province.

Brown and five other men were part of a Crime Stoppers campaign unveiled Tuesday. The organization said Brown was wanted in connection with kidnapping, assault, break and and fraud.

The Surrey RCMP says a warrant was issued for Brown in February 2023.

“Significant efforts to locate Brown were undertaken and the warrant was extended Canada Wide after investigators learned that Brown might be residing in Winnipeg,” police said Tuesday.
