A West Vancouver man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man in 70 Mile House more than three years ago.

On Dec. 26, 2021, the Clinton RCMP was called to a home on Komori Road near N. Bonaparte Road.

When they arrived, they found 52-year-old The-Thanh (Ted) Nguyen lying outside. Paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead.

Soon after, police arrested a suspect who was fleeing south through Clinton.

“At the conclusion of the investigation, a charge of second-degree murder was approved by the BC Prosecution Service and on March 7, 2025, 64-year-old Chinh Duc Vu of Vancouver was arrested without incident for the homicide of The-Thanh (Ted) Nguyen,” Mounties said in a news release.

Vu will be held in custody until his court appearance, scheduled for April 3 in Kamloops.
