What was B.C.’s most popular baby name in 2025?
The province says ‘Noah’ has reclaimed the top spot for the year in B.C.’s records of baby names.
‘Noah’ was the most popular name in 2022 and 2023, but was beaten by ‘Oliver’ in 2024.
In 2025, the B.C. government says 198 Noahs — just 14 more than in 2024 — brought the name back to the top of the list.
‘Oliver’ descended to second place, followed by ‘Theodore,’ ‘Liam,’ ‘Olivia,’ ‘Charlotte,’ ‘Jack,’ ‘Henry,’ ‘Sophia’ and ‘James.’
The province’s Vital Statistics Agency records the names and lists any that are used more than five times in an online database.
Over 41,500 newborns were registered with the B.C. government between Jan 1. and Dec. 15, 2025.
