What’s open on Labour Day in Vancouver?
School will soon be back in session, and summer is winding down, but there’s still one last long weekend to enjoy. There are many events happening in Vancouver over the Labour Day weekend, but some closures will be in effect.
Here is a list of what’s open and closed on Monday, Sept. 1:
Attractions
The PNE Fair will be open for its final day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with a show by Rainbow Kitten Surprise closing out the 2025 Summer Night Concerts lineup at the Pacific Coliseum.
The Vancouver Art Gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., operating on summer hours until Sept. 2.
Cineplex movie theatres will be open.
Landmark movie theatres will be open.
Science World will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Vancouver Aquarium will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Museum of Vancouver will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Transit
Buses, SkyTrains, and SeaBuses will operate on a Sunday-Holiday schedule.
The West Coast Express train will not operate.
Grocery/pharmacy stores
Save-on-Foods will be open during regular hours.
BC Liquor stores will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Malls
Pacific Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Metropolis at Metrotown (Burnaby) will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Guildford Mall (Surrey) will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Community Centres
Champlain Heights, Creekside, Douglas Park, Dunbar, Hastings, Kensington, Marpole – Oakridge, RayCam, Strathcona, Thunderbird, Trout Lake, Vancouver Aquatic Centre, and West Point Grey community centres will be closed.
All others will be open, though many will be on reduced holiday hours.
Other
Banks and government offices will be closed.
There will be no mail delivery.
