Woman accused of stealing and pepper-spraying security guard
Halton police are searching for a woman who is wanted in connection with a robbery in Oakville earlier this month.
According to police, the woman went to a Fortinos grocery store located at 493 Dundas St. W. in Oakville on Jan. 6.
Officers say the suspect was seen “concealing store merchandise” and was approached by a loss prevention officer who attempted to place her under arrest.
The suspect allegedly pepper-sprayed the officer and fled the store.
Police describe the suspect as being in her late 30s, five feet six inches tall and 130 pounds, with wavy black shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing.
Investigators encourage anyone with information to contact police.
