Toronto police were called to Warden and Eglinton avenues just after 2 p.m. on Jan. 9.

It’s alleged a grey Volkswagen Atlas tuned into a shopping plaza in the area and as it was travelling through the parking lot, struck an 87-year-old woman.

The vehicle then allegedly fled the scene.

The woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She died a week later on Jan. 16.

On Feb. 11, Patricia Lo, 45, of Toronto was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Cause Death, Fail to Stop at Accident Scene Cause Bodily Harm Where Death Ensued, and Careless Driving Cause Death.

She is scheduled to appear in court on April 15.
