Woman critically injured in Mississauga stabbing

A woman suffered critical injuries following a stabbing in Mississauga.

Peel police were called to the Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street area for reports of a stabbing just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

When they arrived they found a woman suffering from life-threatening stab wounds.

Police say they are searching for a male suspect and are looking at surveillance footage from the area to get a better description.

Investigators say if anyone was in the area between 6 and 6:25 p.m. and witnessed an altercation between a man and a woman, they are asked to contact police.
