Editor’s note: a previous version of this story stated that the Maserati left the scene of the crash immediately. However, the SPS says the occupant(s) of the Maserati left the scene immediately, while images from the scene show the Maserati itself remained at the scene.

Two pedestrians are injured after a hit and run involving a Maserati in Surrey Saturday night, with one of them in critical condition.

Surrey Police Service (SPS) media liaison Ian MacDonald tells 1130 NewsRadio they responded with fire crews to reports that a Maserati hit several vehicles near 75th Avenue and 124th Street just after 10 p.m.

Any occupants of the Maserati left the scene of the crash immediately, the SPS says. Images from the scene of the crash show the Maserati itself remained at the scene.

“A Maserati … was travelling at a high rate of speed that collided with both moving and stationary vehicles,” MacDonald said.

“That collision ultimately damaged five vehicles, but most importantly, there were two pedestrians that were standing between two parked vehicles.”

One of the pedestrians was critically injured, MacDonald said, after being “basically trapped” between two vehicles.

He says the second one was “thrown a distance and injured,” and was taken to hospital with injuries police don’t believe are life-threatening.

Anyone with information or video footage is asked to call the SPS at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2025-1078 (SP) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to remain anonymous.
