73 active wildfires in B.C.

Of the 73 active wildfires across the province, B.C.’s northeast is currently recording 63.
The Prince George Fire Centre, which is the regional fire centre responsible for wildfire management, says 39 of those are out of control.
24 are either under control or are not expected to grow anymore.
One fire, the Kiskatinaw River Wildfire, sparked a evacuation order on Thursday, May 29, in the Peace River region.
The 1,100 hectares large fire was not discovered until the day before and it is believed that it is caused by human activity.
B.C. Wildfire Service says that 56 of those fires were caused by lightning while five were by human activity.
The Prince George Fire Centre is the largest forest region in British Columbia, covering 33.6 million hectares—an area ten times the size of Vancouver Island.
Seven wildfires are burning in the Southeast Fire Centre with only one being out of control.
There is one wildfire that is under control in the Coastal Centre, which includes the most populous cities in the province.
That fire was detected on Thursday, May 29, and was reported to be 1.3 hectares in size.
Last week Wednesday, May 28, Manitoba declared a state of emergency due to high wildfire activity in the north of the province.
