Abbotsford police arrest 4 people on outstanding warrants Friday in separate incidents

The Abbotsford Police Department says it had a busy night Friday, responding to a total of 80 calls overnight.

Four people were located and arrested on separate outstanding warrants, AbbyPD says.

In addition, six impaired drivers were taken off the road. One of those drivers tried to escape arrest by running away.

“One of these individuals was found to be in violation of house arrest conditions imposed by the courts from a previous arrest,” the department said.

“He attempted to evade accountability by providing a false name and fleeing on foot. Following a foot pursuit, he was apprehended and is now in custody awaiting a court appearance today.”

AbbyPD says eight people were still in jail Saturday morning, all set to appear in court later in the day.
