Prime Minister Carney to visit White House ‘within the next week’

U.S. President Donald Trump says Prime Minister Mark Carney will come to the White House “within the next week or less.”

Trump called Carney a “very nice gentleman” who, on their phone call Tuesday, “couldn’t have been nicer.”

The president mused that both candidates in the race – Carney and Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre – “hated Trump” and that the conservative figure “hated me more.”

Carney previously spoke with Trump during the first week of the election campaign, and they agreed to immediately launch discussions on a new trade and security pact if he won.
