Section of Old Dewdney Trunk closes in both directions for several hours after accident

Old Dewdney Trunk was closed in both directions for several hours between Harris and Lougheed Highway following an accident Thursday afternoon, BC Emergency Health Services tells 1130 NewsRadio.

“BC Emergency Health Services received a call at 3:48 p.m. today about a motor vehicle incident in the 19100 block of Old Dewdney Trunk Road in Pitt Meadows,” said Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites.

“An ambulance with primary care paramedics responded to the scene. No patients required hospital transport.”

Callers reported seeing at least one downed power pole at the scene of the accident, but this hasn’t been confirmed by authorities.

According to the BC Hydro website, over 600 customers lost power around the time of the accident, but service has since been restored.
