Stolen Porsche slams into Vancouver Police cars, driver arrested

The Vancouver Police Department says the driver of a stolen Porsche faces several charges after a wild series of events on Sunday afternoon.
The VPD says the Porsche Cayenne slammed into a number of police vehicles and parked cars, trying to get away from officers around 1:30 p.m. near Alberni and Burrard streets.
“The driver fled toward the Downtown Eastside, where it was spotted by officers deployed as part of #TaskForceBarrage,” the VPD said on X.
Officers caught up with the man a few blocks away.
“The 32-year-old driver and a passenger were taken into custody minutes later, near Main and Union Street, with assistance from a VPD canine officer. A beanbag shotgun was used during the arrest,” the VPD explained.
The VPD adds there were no serious injuries.
