Surrey fire crews fight fire in East Clayton

The Surrey Fire Service (SFS) is battling a fire at a residential building in Surrey’s Cloverdale neighbourhood.

Reportedly the fire is around 66A Avenue and 180 Street.

Mark Forney with the SFS says that 25 firefighters are currently on scene.

At 10 p.m. the fire “is still active as we speak,” he said on the phone with 1130 NewsRadio.

The SFS received a call regarding a “structure fire of a home.”

Once the firefighters arrived, they saw a two-story building up in flames. According to Forney, the fire had already gone through the roof.
