Abbotsford Police Recover $500,000 in Stolen Property

The Abbotsford Police have recovered an estimated $500,000 worth of stolen property following a targeted crime crackdown.
According to Sergeant Paul Walker from the Abbotsford Police, the stolen property includes several vehicles, ATVs, motorcycles, travel trailers, and farm and construction equipment.
The items were seized after police executed two separate search warrants in late May at properties in Abbotsford and Mission.
Sergeant Walker says the individuals responsible for the thefts are prolific offenders who are known to law enforcement.
“We saw between the period of January 1 to May 1 of this year a 67 per cent increase into property crime that was occurring in this area compared to the same time period in 2024,” he said.
Walker adds that offenders, like the ones involved in this property theft, have mechanisms to move the stolen property.
“They are putting it down on large rural acreages for a period of time, let that stolen property settle down before they move that,” he explained.
Investigators are working to identify recurring crime patterns, enabling them to hold offenders accountable and disrupt channels for offloading stolen goods, says Sergeant Paul Walker.
He urges community members to report all thefts to the police, as this information is crucial for plotting crime patterns and targeting those responsible.
