A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a high-risk offender who failed to return to his halfway house Thursday, Vancouver police say.

Police say 37-year-old Johnny Walkus was released from prison earlier Thursday and was ordered to live in a halfway house in Vancouver.

“He left shortly before 1:30 p.m. for a meeting with his parole officer, but didn’t show up for the meeting and is now wanted Canada-wide,” the VPD said.

Walkus is described as 5 foot 8 with a heavy build, short black hair, and brown eyes. He has the name “Johnny Cash” tattooed on his right forearm.

Police say he was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt, grey pants, and dark shoes.

Anyone who sees Walkus is asked to call 911 immediately.
