Vancouver man charged after gun, fentanyl seized

B.C.’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) says a Vancouver man is facing charges in connection to an alleged cross-border drug trafficking operation.
The CFSEU says it began investigating the operation with Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) in February.
Police say they were investigating a “male suspect believed to be importing illegal firearms into Canada.”
After carrying out a search warrant in Vancouver, the gang task force says investigators seized an illegal firearm and approximately 600 grams of fentanyl.
It says another four outgoing shipments of approximately 1,500 grams of fentanyl were intercepted by American border agents.
On Tuesday, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved six charges against a man from Vancouver.
The 32-year-old is facing two counts of unlawful export of fentanyl from Canada and one count each of unlawful export of methamphetamine, unlawful export of fentanyl and methamphetamine, possession for the purposes of trafficking fentanyl, and possession for the purposes of trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine.
Police say the suspect was arrested on Thursday in Alberta.
