Youth stabbed, youth arrested: Mission RCMP

The Mission RCMP says one teen is in hospital and another is in custody after an alleged stabbing last week.

Mounties were called to Alder Street near 1st Avenue on Friday, May 23 around 9:30 p.m., to a reported incident involving a group of youths.

“Police arrived to find a 17-year-old male suffering from an injury consistent with a sharp-edged weapon,” said the RCMP in a release Tuesday.

It says the victim was transported to hospital for “serious but not life-threatening” injuries.

Mounties say an 18-year-old man was arrested in connection to the incident on Saturday.

Police say the incident was likely a targeted attack and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
