Man charged after taking a shower at the wrong home

Ottawa police are reminding people to keep their doors locked after a man unlawfully entered a home in the city’s east end.

It happened in the afternoon on Oct. 16, when the man entered the residence through an unlocked door. He ended up taking a shower.

Police say he “mistakenly” thought the residence was of someone he knew. Nothing was stolen and no one was injured in the incident. He was charged with unlawfully entering a dwelling.

“This is a reminder to ensure your doors are locked,” officials said.
