The George Massey Tunnel between Delta and Richmond has reopened northbound after a vehicle crash forced its closure for hours Tuesday.

Calls to 1130 NewsRadio reported that the collision happened around 3:45 p.m.

Though it took place in the only northbound lane, both directions were temporarily blocked. One southbound was quickly opened.

Around 6 p.m., little had changed. But shortly before 8 p.m., DriveBC confirmed all lanes in the tunnel had reopened.

Heavy congestion can still be expected. Drivers can take the Alex Fraser Bridge as an alternate route.
